Battery Care Tips

max-555

Looking after your batteries is one of the best ways that you can increase the working life of your radios.

Most modern radios now use Li-ion style batteries which are much lighter and have a higher capacity than previous chemistries like Nimh and NiCad.

Just follow our 3 handy tips on how to look after your Lithium ion batteries and look forward to making them last longer:

  • Li-ion batteries benefit from frequent "top up charges" so after the end of your shift put your radio on to charge ready for the next use.
  • If your Li-ion battery gets too hot or too cold it will lose its charge, keep it at room temperature for the best performance
  • If you are not using your batteries for a long period of time, store them with a partial charge, or the battery might appear dead the next time it's used.
