Throughout the year, we offer free health checks for all our customers. The most popular being during the school summer holidays. These have proven to be especially popular with schools as it allows them to send all their radios back in one swoop to be checked over and brought back up to speed.
2024 health check
We are only a couple weeks into our annual health check right now, and yet it’s one of our busiest so far! The vast majority of health checks coming in from schools and colleges who have just broken up for the summer.
With over 150 radios having come in over the last couple weeks from all across the country, our engineer is working hard to test all the radios, which have been a mixed bag of Pronto, Hytera and Motorola models.
What does a health check involve?
It is great practice to get into the habit of having your radios put through a health check annually. A lot of people say to us that their radios are working fine, but then when we ask a few operational questions, they start to realise that in reality, the battery charge doesn’t last as long anymore or the speakers are a little bit quieter than they once use to be.
It is these small changes (that do naturally happen to a radio as it gets older) that you get so used to, you forget how much better they used to be!
One of our engineers once said that everyone has their car serviced annually because it is the sensible thing to do regardless of whether you think there is an issue – so why not your radios?!
Here is a basic outline of the tests that our engineer will perform on your radios:
- Checking transmission power
- Checking reception sensitivity
- Audio & speaker connections
- Accessory connections
- Full Cadex battery analysis and reconditioning
It is important to think to your self about the last time your radios were checked over, and whether now is the time to have them serviced.
