Discontinued Please try the Icom IC-F23 as an alternative
The IC-M33 is the the world’s first marine VHF transceiver that floats in water. This revolutionary new radio has been designed to be easy to use and is supplied as standard with a 980mAh Li-Ion battery pack provides 9 hours of operating time (with transmit/receive/idle ratio of 5:5:90). The ergonomic design of the case means it’s easy to hold and use, and as with all Icom handhelds it features a large, easy to read backlit LCD which clearly shows all necessary information. Another innovative feature is the “AquaQuake” draining function – a vibrating sound from the loudspeaker clears water away from the speaker grille.
If you drop the IC-M33 into water, the radio comes up to the surface so it can be easily retrieved. As the radio has a rugged waterproof body (tested to 1m depth for 30mins), it will keep on working even after it has been submerged.
