Cookham Regatta 2017 sizzles in the September sun
Held on the first Saturday of September, the Cookham Regatta is an annual highlight of the Buckinghamshire calendar.
Organised jointly by the Rotary clubs of Cookham Bridge and Marlow Thames, the competitive race event provides essential support for a wide range of UK and overseas charities and has over the past 10 years donated in excess of £100,000 to worthy causes.
The main beneficiary for funds raised during 2017’s 29th annual Regatta is Alzheimer’s Dementia Support (ADS), a fantastic local charity offering help and guidance to people directly and indirectly impacted across Windsor, Ascot, Slough and Maidenhead.
Aside from the water based activities, the Regatta is a family entertainment event with plenty to occupy all age groups from classic car and motorcycle display, sumo wrestling, dog show, bungee trampolines, speciality food stalls, children’s entertainment area and the ever popular silent auction.
And for once, the weathermen actually got it right, and this year, record visitors to Saturday’s regatta enjoyed the balmy Indian summer weather promised.
Maximon Solutions were delighted to support this fantastic local event and supply all of the two way radio for use across the site and look forward to another successful Cookham Regatta 2018!
